Best Glassware For IPA and Best Glass For IPA Beer

Happy IPA Day!!

Other Half Brewing Company and The Answer Brew Pub brew various styles of beer; however, they collaborated to create Raining Threes, which is a triple dry-hopped Double India Pale Ale ( IPA ). Raining Threes is brewed and dry-hopped with Galaxy, Citra and Motueka hops.

Glassware: Dank & Juicy 16oz Glassware

The Dank & Juicy craft beer glass is the first design in our Dank & Juicy series of beer pint glasses. We designed the beer glassware to showcase the characteristics of hops and yeast.

Dank is a common word used to describe the aroma and flavor characteristics of certain types of hops, while juicy is commonly referred to as the mouthfeel and flavor profile of certain New England yeast strains.

Appearance:

Raining Threes Imperial IPA pours a hazy opaque grapefrut juice color with a slim frothy white head. This Double IPA defines how a hazy IPA should appear. The frothy head does not stick around long, but the froth is around long enough to receive a face full of tropical and citrus aromas.

Nose:

Other Half and The Answer's double IPA definitely smells like dank and pungent citrus. This hazy Imperial IPA stands out because it expresses some unique citrus rind characteristics.

Palate:

The flavor profile of this well-constructed double IPA is dominated by fleshy citrus and bitter citrus rind. The bitterness was more forward than what we expected from this NEIPA; yet, the bitter hop flavor did not overpower the beer.

Raining Three's keeps the drinker interested with its noticeable malt and earthy undertones. Imperial IPAs are known for having higher alcohol content, and this double IPA is no exception, but there is absolutely no trace of the 8.5% alcohol in this NEIPA.  Raining Threes is juicy, smooth, and the beer is very "sessionable" for an IPA with almost 9% alcohol by volume.

Final Thoughts:

The beer was hoppy enough for us to notice the unique flavors and aromas, but the citrus and earthy hop flavor did not dominate the entire flavor profile of the beer. The NEIPA displayed a clean malt presence, but the ale was slightly yeast dominant. Overall, we definitely enjoyed this triple dry-hopped NEIPA.

We are a local Washington, D.C. based business, and The Answer Brew Pub is about 120 miles from us.  Other Half Brewing and The Answer Brew Pub supplies Brooklyn, New York and Richmond, Virginia with delicious local beer.

Other Half is known for their unique, flavorful, and very aromatic New England IPA. The Answer Brew Pub is widely recognized for their fruited sour beers, but also makes several delicious versions of the NEIPA.

We recommend visiting these fantastic craft beer breweries for their limited release craft beer cans, or a fresh pour of their hazy draft beer.

Our Recommendations:

All Citra Everything Double IPA, Hop Showers IPA, or Small Green Everything IPA.

The Answer Brew Pub:
